Dynamic Resource Group (DRG) recently released a new, redesigned and redeveloped e-commerce site for e-PatternsCentral. The web site offers customers the option of downloading individual patterns, magazines, or entire pattern books for crochet, knitting, quilting, and more. More than 2,000 patterns are available and all are delivered electronically in PDF format at a relatively low cost with no shipping charge.

Originally launched in 2001, the site has undergone two major enhancements over the years, including this most recent redesign facilitated by Rare Bird. The new site design features a clean user interface, quick access to the most popular patterns, and new navigation elements designed to bring key products to the fore.

For the client-controlled site administration, the site provides easily updated product control and merchandising, drag-and-drop category sorting, and fully integrated support for sales promotions.

“e-PatternsCentral.com represents the future of our business,” said Jon Rosswurm, Internet marketing director for DRG, “and we plan to make major adjustments so that we can continue to deliver what our customers want. We welcome change and view it as a key to our future success.”

Marylee Klinkhammer, DRG’s web development director, agrees. “Usability is a key factor in a site like e-PatternsCentral, which is focused on downloadable content,” said Klinkhammer. “The user experience is seamless on the site redesign, enabling customers to never be more than two or three clicks from exactly what they are looking for. On the administration side of things, the tools are exceptionally easy both for product merchandising and marketing functions. We couldn’t be happier with our long-time partnership with Rare Bird.”

DRG’s publishing division encompasses leading brands, including Annie’s Attic, American School of Needlework, House of White Birches, Clotilde and The Needlecraft Shop. DRG publishes nine special interest consumer magazines, as well as hardcover and softcover books that are sold direct to consumers through catalogs and the Internet, as well as through wholesale and trade channels.
